While in Toronto, I couldn't sell my car in time to make my flight back home. Instead I visited some friends in Mexico City to celebrate New Years. Without any particular plan, one thing let to another and I ended up driving along the Pan-American Highway to the very south end of the American continent ...and back up again to Rio De Janeiro.

With 34 years of age, I took my last chance to get a work and travel visa in Canada. I spent three month living in a tent in the forests of British Columbia and Alberta, planting trees for a living. Then two of my German friends visited for a road trip through the USA and its beautiful national parks.

Lead by Lonely Planet, I've visited nearly all countries in Southeast Asia on several visits. With only Myanmar left, I'm sure I'll go back to tick this last destination off my list too.

I lived and traveled in Australia for over five years on and off. Two of those years I spent exploring the country with my 1983 Toyota Land Cruiser, which took me 32.000 kilometers through some of Australias most challenging terrains.
